Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: Ensuring that every child has access to education regardless of financial background remains the guiding principle of Smiley Children Society, a non-profit organization that has been serving communities across Andhra Pradesh since January 19, 2019. Founded by Prudhvi Moses, the organization continues to implement educational initiatives that focus on school enrollment, academic support, and the overall well-being of children.
With its headquarters in Mandapeta and branch offices in Angara (East Godavari District) and Pothavaram (West Godavari District), Smiley Children Society has established a strong presence in rural communities through the dedicated efforts of its volunteers.
A major focus of the organization is helping children from economically weaker families secure admission to government schools. Volunteers conduct awareness campaigns, meet with parents, explain the importance of education, and assist families in completing admission formalities. By simplifying the process and providing continuous guidance, the organization helps ensure that more children enter the formal education system.
The initiative has been appreciated by Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who recognized the contribution of Smiley Children Society’s volunteers and praised Founder Prudhvi Moses for encouraging educational participation among underserved communities.
According to Prudhvi Moses, education is the most valuable investment any society can make.
“When a child receives quality education, the benefits extend beyond the individual to the family and the community. Our mission is to remove obstacles that prevent children from attending school and to provide the support they need to continue their education with confidence,” he said.
To complement its school enrollment efforts, Smiley Children Society conducts free evening tuition classes in Angara for students who require additional academic guidance. The sessions focus on strengthening basic concepts, improving academic performance, and preparing students for school examinations in a supportive environment.
Recognizing that many children come from financially challenged households, the organization also provides free dinner after every tuition session. This initiative reflects the society’s commitment to addressing both educational and nutritional needs, allowing children to concentrate on learning without additional concerns.
Smiley Children Society also actively promotes creative learning in early childhood education. During educational events and interactions with teachers, Prudhvi Moses has advocated for activity-based teaching methods, storytelling, visual learning tools, and interactive classroom activities that help children develop curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
As part of its commitment to improving learning environments, the organization regularly donates educational equipment, classroom resources, and teaching materials to schools and educational institutions that encourage innovative teaching practices.
Looking forward, Smiley Children Society aims to broaden its outreach across Andhra Pradesh by strengthening volunteer participation, expanding educational support programs, and collaborating with more schools and community organizations. Through these sustained efforts, the organization continues to build opportunities that empower children to learn, grow, and contribute to a brighter future.
